Why Some Are Saying Lone Gunslinger Pictures’ Werewolf Film ‘DESERT WOLF’ Can Become A Cult Classic
Lone Gunslinger Pictures released Desert Wolf in time for Halloween. Are you a 1980’s horror fan? A werewolf enthusiast? Desert Wolf is a fun, scary throwback horror film with an element of mystery. As advertised, the film is a classic werewolf feature. You can expect the intertwining of The Wolf Man (1941) and Nicholson’s portrayal of the lycan in Wolf (1994).
The scares are there, without the overuse of gore. The filmmakers and cast captured what we loved about those 1980’s horror films. An unexpected aspect of the film was the landscape, and its small town America feel.
The film was written and directed by Beau Yotty, produced by Sandra Mateu, and stars Beau Yotty, Elizabeth Broeder, Hayley Vrana.

“The atmosphere for this particular Werewolf movie was quite different than your average Werewolves, but that’s what I liked most about it. Plus if you’re a fan of Beau’s work, then what you practically see shouldn’t be as a surprise. Cowboys, deserts, evil situations, curses. It’s built for Lone Gunslinger Pictures.”
“Now I have to say, this film does definitely do some cool things that I enjoy. The description that I was given from Beau that he blended The Wolf Man with Wolf, which I have to say that he’s dead on. The opening is definitely similar to the 1941 classic and the changes that come over Garrett definitely falls in line with the Jack Nicholson film from 1994. The small-town feel works for sure as we have a community where everyone knows everyone and some distinct characters as well.”
