What sets your festival apart from other festivals?
Our unique northern location and small town make all the venues close together so the festival guest and audience get to know each other.
Do you have a favorite film that has showcased at your Festival?
We like them all!
Do you have an interesting story that has taken place during a past festival?
Our guest get to go dog mushing!
(For those of us who might not be aware of the definition of dog mushing.)
According to Wikipedia:
Dog Mushing is a term for a sport or transport method powered by dogs. It includes carting, pulka, sled dog racing, skijoring and weight pulling. More specifically, it implies the use of one or more dogs to pull a sled on snow or dry land.
Is there something in particular that you look for in submissions? Or are there multiple factors?
Multiple factors, an independent spirit, made with limited resources
What is your goal for your festival?
to screen work by regional filmmakers in an international context. To bring interesting work into our community.
How is your festival received locally?
Very well, supported by many attendees and run by an army of volunteers.
Where do you see or would like to see your Festival in 5 years?
Stronger than ever with more locally produced works.
